How can I find out more about the program?
Just send us an email and we will contact you to talk about it and see if we can get the program running at your school.
Our school is in an area that may not be able to afford the full investment – what can we do?
Just email us and we can discuss the many options that are available to you – the bottom line is this – we want to work out a way so the children at your school can get involved in a program that may just change their lives!
Is it possible to run a modified program?
Yes! We can run programs over different time allocations – whether it is 8 weeks, 6 weeks, 4 weeks, 1 full week or 2 full days – there are many options available – just email us for more info.
We only want to run the program without trying to make a profit – can we do that?
Yes! The program is designed to cater to many situations and financial situations – just email us to find out how we can help you get up and running.
How much should we expect to make from running a program?
If you have 24 children in a group – say K-2 – you can expect to make around $800 clear. If you multiply this figure by 3 groups – that is $2,400 approx. If you run this program 2 times throughout the year – that equals around $4,800 – all for getting your children involved in sport, activity and showing them a fantastic time. (The coaches also get paid – so if that turns out to be a teacher – extra cash!)
What do we need to do to get qualified to coach?
Because we are not teaching brain surgery – the qualification is quite simple – the training is mostly about attitude – not about knowledge of the game. This is the most critical point that needs to be emphasized – coaches can be parents, older teenagers (High school Basketball Players), teachers and coaches!
We will put you through a training program that takes just a couple of hours to complete via online training or via DVD – as long as the principals of the program are followed you will be a successful coach!
Answer this question… “How many 15 year old boys do you know who can cook?”
If your answer is the usual…. None! Thenthink about this… Go to a famous hamburger restaurant andsee who’s cookingthe burgers – if they can teach a young person to cook – we can teach them to coach!
It is all about the system and the delivery of the system!
How do we promote the programs?
We will supply you with templates to personalize for your newsletter or for individual distribution to the children. Because there are a limited number of places available – these places will fill quickly on a first come, first served basis.
This will also ensure that the program will have a longer life as you are not introducing a lot of your students to the concept at once.
We will even show you how to go into a school and promote the program to heaps of kids at once. You will have them climbing up the walls in 5 minutes flat!
We are a long way from anywhere – can we run the program as well?
If you have kids – you can run the program – it has been designed to entertain and teach children (In that order!)
If you have coaches with personality, willing children to participate – you can run the program!
How many kids can you cater for?
Typically we run in groups of 24 with 2 coaches.
We can increase that number to a maximum of 30 children on a single basketball court.
We would then have an extra coach and the ratio of children to coach would go from 1-12 down to 1 – 10.
What is the minimum size group?
The minimum amount if students per group is 8.
What is the maximum size group?
We can run to a maximum of 30 children per court. Therefore – if you have 2 courts, we can run 60 children per age group.
What is the coach: student ratio?
The absolute maximum is 1:12.
We only have a single court at our school – how many kids can we do?
A maximum of 30 per age group.
How does a group with 30 kids have 3 coaches?
We simply break the group up and run the session across the full court – because we are not shooting the whole time – it is irrelevant whether the children are at the end of the court or in the middle.
When it does come time to shoot, the children are regrouped and the 3rd coach supervises, gets involved and has fun with the kids.
Can we run the program on a weekend?
Absolutely – in fact, this is usually the best scenario to run the program. Just imagine, you can run the following scenario… Group 1 – K-2, from 9.00am – 9.45am, Group 2 – 3-4, from 10.00am – 10.45am, Group 3 – 5-6, from 11.00am – 11.45am.
If the groups are full – that is 90 children, coaches only have to turn up for the 3 hours, and you are done!
How do we run it through the week?
You will need to allocate a night per group – for instance – Monday is group 1, Wednesday is group 2 and Thursday is group 3, this is totally up to you and your decision. Whatever you do – make it as easy as possible for the children to get involved – if Monday night is usually and traditionally reserved for another activity, don’t try to change this culture – just keep it simple.
How do we get the balls and the t-shirts?
After your registration day you simply send through the order form via fax to us, along with record of your direct deposit of the funds and the completed registration list with all the details of the participants. We will then immediately ship these items to you along with certificates. Remember to allow time to pump the balls up – this does take a little time and you don’t want to be pumping them up when the kids arrive for the first session.
How do we get the certificates for the kids?
We will ship them to you after you send through the registration list with the details of the children’s names. We will forward the certificates to you early so they are there before the end of week 8.
What happens if a child wants to do the program again?
Excellent – this is a good thing! In fact – we have had young children complete the program up to 6 times just because they love Billy Bounce so much and enjoy the atmosphere the program presents.
As far as pricing goes – we can give them a discount so they don’t get another ball – if the t-shirt is different – they will get that one – if it is still the same print – they can ask for a discount as well.
Are we covered by insurance?
The schools insurance is to be used to run the program, this program is run under license and is therefore the responsibility of the school to maintain this coverage.
